Designed and Made in Türkiye, the ULTRA Chain Grab is a unique design that allows it to be easily attached or removed from a taut chain rode. Manufactured from 316L stainless steel, the chain grab ensures an even load is dispersed over the chain link attached and does not weaken or stretch the link. Another common problem encountered with an all-chain rode is the frustrating noise of constant chain whip while at anchor. Rest assured, the ULTRA Chain Grab absorbs this load, allowing you and your neighbor an uninterrupted night’s sleep. Thanks to its unique design, it removes itself from the chain while passing through the bow roller, even if you forget to take it off the chain.

Using a snubber is always recommended when deploying an all-chain rode. Snubbers act as absorbers between the rode and the vessel while transferring surge loading caused by wind and waves from the windlass to a deck cleat. No windlass is built to bear the load of a deployed anchor, particularly the bone-jarring snatches of an all-chain rode fetching up short.

It is easy to use ULTRA Chain Grab. Once you anchor somewhere, thinking about staying for some time, stopping the chain is a good idea.

For that;

  • It would help if you matched the chain grab opening on top of one of the chain links. It will be easier to do this if you pull the rope to one side, which would help if you prevent overlapping the rope to the chain link.
  • Let the chain and the chain grab slide to the sea direction by holding the rope gently in your hand.
  • Cleat off the end of the rope. We recommend eyeing the end of the line before putting it onto the cleat.
  • Once the chain grab and rope takes the load, let the chain rope hang down as it starts stretching.
  • If there are abrasive places where the rope touches in use, you must take precautions.
